    The route for our M3 - Mountainbike Marathon 2025 covers 75 km and 2500 m of elevation gain.

    This route demands a very high level of fitness from the riders. Sufficient time and adequate provisions are indispensable for this route.

    This course of the Montafon Mountainbike Marathon is a sporting challenge. The entire route may only be ridden in full on race day. On this route, you move through almost the entire Montafon and see it from its different sides. The landscape differences could not be greater. You get the feeling that nature tries to outdo itself in beauty. But you can also learn interesting facts about electricity generation and hydropower along the route. Wonderful viewpoints and cultural highlights pepper this route from start to finish.

    Important information for mountain bikers and hikers during race time from approx. 8:00 to 11:30 am in Silbertal:

    During the M³ Montafon Mountainbike Marathon all paths remain usable. On the Silbertal – Hasahüsli – Hochmoor “Wildried” – Kristberg section, many mountain bikers must be expected from about 8:00 am to about 11:30 am, some of whom travel at high speeds. All participants have been advised to ride considerately. We ask path users to be especially alert as participants of the M³ Montafon Mountainbike Marathon are racing. The road from Silbertal to Kristberg is a private road, which may only be used by authorized persons (valid authorization required). Unauthorized use may result in a fine of €700.00.

    • Bartholomäberg – Baroque church to Gantschier

    • Schruns – Stemer Bridge to Schruns center

  • Directions

    The route starts in the center of Schruns and takes you through Silbertal into the Wasserstuben valley. Over another climb, you pass the Panorama guesthouse Kristberg, over the Fritzensee up to Rellseck. The following descent to Bartholomäberg is permitted only on race day in the upper as well as the lower parts. Afterwards, it continues via Vandans over Ganeu up to Matschwitz and then downhill to Latschau. Following the Aquaweg, you ride over Bitschweil to Tschagguns back into the valley. It continues downhill for a while to the district of Mauren and then back to Schruns in the finish area.

    The regional buses run throughout the Montafon. The main lines depart every half hour from Schruns station.

    Arrival by train to Montafon

    From Bludenz station, the Montafonerbahn runs hourly (partly half-hourly). There are also direct connections from Lindau (D) and Bregenz.

    Approach:

    Take the A14 to the Bludenz/Montafon exit and continue on Montafonerstraße L188 to the center of Schruns.
