Gaschurn via the Rifabecken to Partenen
-
Höhenprofil
It is the most beautiful way to hike to Partenen in winter. Past the idyllic Chapel Maria Schnee, the route goes through the district Trantrauas to the Rifabecken and past the Vermuntwerk into the centre of Partenen.
Chapel Maria Schnee
The chapel, which appears peculiarly rustic on a hill, was built in 1637 and extended in 1780/1856. The chapel is a foundation by Lukas Tschofen II. Maria Schnee is a local pilgrimage site around which several legends revolve. The Mariahilf image (now located on the right side wall of the nave), which served as a miraculous image, is documented by votive pictures that are no longer kept in the chapel.
