The snowshoe routes are in open terrain. Use at your own risk.

The deeply snow-covered village of Gargellen is especially charming due to its high altitude. On this route, snowshoe hikers can expect excellent views of the opposite panorama with the Maisäss landscapes Rongg and Röbi, also the mountain peaks Riedkopf, Rotspitze, and even the Reutehorn with a view downvalley. In the southwest or upvalley direction rises the mighty Madrisa, the local mountain of Gargellen, as well as the Ritzenspitze.

This route is marked with the green number 4 on the overview map "Aktivkarte Schnee" on the back. The map is available free of charge at the Montafon tourist offices. Fluids, energy, and breaks are necessary to maintain performance and concentration. Hot, isotonic drinks are ideal thirst quenchers and warmers. Muesli bars, dried fruit, and biscuits satisfy small hunger on the way.
