    Mid-station Golmerbahn Matschwitz - Schandang - Ganeu - Vandans

    Pushchair-friendly path:

    Along the forest road (pull path) you reach Vandans (town center or Golmerbahn valley station) from Matschwitz via Schandang and Ganeu. Upon reaching the Rellsbach, you cross the bridge to the other side of the river (Rellstalstraße) and continue downwards to the right. A little below the sawmill you can turn right and follow the signs to the Golmerbahn valley station; for the town center, follow the signposts.

    For walkers and hikers there are short shortcuts available from the Ganeu area (away from the pull road). Please follow the signposts there. You can reach the Golmerbahn valley station via the dam path along the Rellsbach.

  • Directions

    The easy hike starts at the Golmerbahn mid-station in Matschwitz and passes by the 4-chair lift valley station. Downhill, it goes along the access road at the edge of the ski slope. You reach the Schandang area via the ravine of the Aualatschbach. Continuing downwards along the forest road (pull path) you then reach Ganeu, a beautiful corn settlement above Vandans. You can enjoy great views of the opposite village as well as views down into the valley. Continue downhill on the pull path and in the lower third you will reach the small, lovingly arranged Mansaura chapel. Via smaller shortcuts you will shortly afterwards reach the Rellsbach and can continue downwards via the dam path through the Lendi area to the Golmerbahn valley station.

    The regional buses of the Montafon railway run throughout Montafon. The main lines depart every half hour from Schruns station.

    Arrival by train to Montafon

    From Bludenz station the Montafon railway runs hourly (sometimes every half hour). There are also direct connections from Lindau (D) and from Bregenz.

    Approach:

    On the A14 to the Bludenz/Montafon exit and continue on Montafonerstraße L188. Turn right at Hosensee towards Golmerbahn Vandans.
