Partenen - Vermuntwerk - Rifa - Rifa balancing reservoir - Gaschurn town centre or energie.raum Partenen (easy valley route)

The energie.wege, designed by Illwerke, are a “walkable exhibition” centred around the energie.raum information centre in Partenen.

At the energie.raum, the Illwerke VKW company, the use of alpine hydropower, the cultural and natural space of Montafon, power plants and electricity generation – from the beginnings to the Obervermuntwerk II project – are comprehensively presented. The energie.wege make many of these topics an engaging experience.

Starting from the energie.raum in Partenen, take the energie.raum hiking map on an exploration tour: Along existing hiking routes in inner Montafon, Silvretta, and Verwall areas, various information stations have been installed. Illustrated panels provide interesting details about specific power plants or highlight remarkable facilities.

    Individual routes and circular route
The energie.wege are interconnected and can be combined flexibly. The energie.wege experience becomes more interesting and varied if routes 1-3 are explored separately on different days. This way you can take more time for sights and excursions.

Detailed information on the energie.wege is contained in the energie.wege panoramic hiking map. You can get this at the tourist offices of Gaschurn and Partenen, as well as at the valley stations of the Tafamunt and Vermuntbahn and at the energie.raum in Partenen.

    Route 1 :
The Illwerke information centre energie.raum (central, Vallülasaal) is a combination of exhibition and museum. Along the entire route, you learn interesting facts, e.g. about the first power plant, its history, the function of intake systems, watercourses “Triebwasserwege Partenen-Latschau” and more.

    Information stations:
    – at Vermuntwerk
    – at the Tschambreu stream intake, Rifa
    – on the dam of the Rifa balancing reservoir

    New landscapes emerge:
In the area of the Rifa balancing reservoir, 400,000 m³ of excavation material from the Kopswerk II was deposited on a former football field. A poor grassland site with dry stone walls, hedges and ponds has developed on the landfill, contributing to ecological biodiversity.

The energie.raum is open daily throughout the year. Admission to the exhibition is free and barrier-free.
