Warm-up and dining options at the Silvretta House*** or the Piz Buin inn/hotel directly at the Silvretta lake or a little below at the Madlener House.

    The journey via the Vermuntbahn and the tunnel bus to the Silvretta lake is already a very special experience!

  • Directions

    The winter hiking trail starts at the mountain inn Piz Buin (turnaround point Tunnelbus). At the beginning, it goes slightly uphill to the west towards the Barbara Chapel. Afterwards, the winter hiking trail leads downhill towards Montafon and makes a large loop on the high plateau, then returns along the same route.

    The regional buses run throughout Montafon. The main lines run every half hour from Schruns train station.

    Bus stop at the start/finish of the route: Partenen cable cars / Line 650

    Continue with the Vermuntbahn and the tunnel bus until you reach Silvretta Bielerhöhe with the Silvretta lake.

    Arrival by train into Montafon

    From Bludenz train station, the Montafon railway runs hourly (partly every half hour). There are also direct connections from Lindau (D) or from Bregenz.

    Approach:

    Drive on the A14 to the Bludenz/Montafon exit and continue on Montafonerstraße L188 to Partenen.
