Once from Lech around the Omeshorn, and back again. Past the bivouac, through the Madlochjoch to Lake Zurich and back to Lech via the Madlochalpe and Wiesele.

The varied round starts in Lech, leads through the district of Omesberg, on a wide fort road to the Gstütalpe. From here, a hiking trail leads up the meadow. About 500 metres later you reach the turnoff to the Omeshorn ascent. The narrow hiking path leads from here steeper uphill, partly the path is stony and leads over meadows. After another 400 metres of altitude difference you reach the bivouac. From here the grassy path leads to the Madlochjoch. Lake Zürs is already visible. This can be reached after another 20 minutes. The lake can be circumnavigated on both sides of the lake shore. On the shore side Seekopf a wide forest road leads downhill. After about 10 metres there is a hiking trail to the left in the direction of Wiesele. The marked meadow trail leads downhill to Madlochalpe 1942 metres. At the crossroads, the path branches off to the left towards Wiesele. The grass-covered path leads downhill to just before the Zürsbach stream. Another path branches off to the left in the direction of Lech along the Zürsbach. Following this path through the forest you come back to the Omesberg forest road and back to Lech.

  • Directions

From Lech, at Restaurant Hus No.8, follow the asphalted road northwest in the direction of Omesberg. At the intersection Haus Sebastian take the left path to Hotel Omesberg. Here a hiking trail leads to the left. On the wide forest road it goes about 3km moderately uphill to the Gstütalpe. The forest road now becomes a hiking trail and leads uphill for almost 400 metres. After 700 meters you reach the junction Omeshorn which turns left.  Straight ahead the path becomes steeper uphill, stony and after another 600 meters you reach the bivouac. From here the trail continues to the left to the northeast, past the Zuger Mittag peak, the highest point of the hike at 2441 metres. A grass-covered hiking trail leads through the Madloch and Madlochjoch. At the Madlochjoch, Lake Zurich is already clearly visible. After a further 20 minutes downhill you reach the wonderful Lake Zurich. This can be circled on both sides. If you walk along the left side of the lake you reach a forest road on the other side of the lake which leads downhill. From the forest road a signposted hiking trail leads downhill to Wiesele on the left. The hiking trail leads down over alpine meadows. After 800 metres you reach the Madloch Alm at 1942 metres. The signposted path leads downhill across the alpine pasture and meadows until the Zürsbach is already clearly visible. About 200 metres before the Zürsbach, a path to the west leads to Lech. The hiking trail leads uphill through the forest and after about 2 kilometres you reach the forest road in Omesberg. From here you return via Omesberg back to Lech to the old bridge at the fountain.
