The Snow & Safety Conference takes place in Lech Zürs am Arlberg (exact dates will be announced here). In talks, workshops and panel debates, participants can share information, talk to experts, test the latest products, and thereby raise their awareness of hazards off the groomed runs.
The ski area of Warth-Schröcken boasts an avalanche practice area next to Steffisalp Express. Here, you can learn how to use an avalanche transceiver, train search strategies, and prepare for an emergency in realistic conditions, daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m in the winter season. On certain dates, SAAC avalanche and safety camps are organised for skiers and snowboarders.
ALPIN Magazin and Sport Conrad are organising deep powder days in the Kleinwalsertal (exact dates will be announced here). Some 500 participants will test the latest skis, ski boots, avalanche sets, poles and clothing sold by the partnering outfitters. Moreover, guided ski tours, workshops and freeride programmes are offered. To participate, simply register on the organiser’s website.

At the freeride safety checks in Silvretta Montafon, freeriders learn to judge the hazard of avalanches and how to handle avalanche gear properly (avalanche transceiver, shovel, probe, ABS airbag). How awe-inspiring sliding snow masses are will be demonstrated as a special highlight: participants can witness the blasting of an avalanche in front of their very eyes, of course from a safe distance.
