The tour begins in the center of Wolfurt at the Rathaus/Cubus bus stop. Shortly after leaving the village behind, a narrow path winds through a mixed beech forest that glows with every shade of color in the fall. The trail climbs quite steeply in places, winding its way up over root-covered steps and stone steps.

Winding through orchards, the trail leads uphill along meadow paths, and soon the first views open up over the Swiss Alps, the Appenzell region, and the Hoher Kasten. Continuing on the Wolfurt High Trail, the route switches to a shaded forest path leading to Eulentobel. Hidden forest trails, crisscrossed with roots, eventually lead to the Dreiländereck inn. From here, there is a beautiful panorama of the mountain landscape of the Rhine Valley all the way to Lake Constance.

The route continues on mostly paved or gravel paths through the idyllic hilly landscape. Along the way, there are frequent views of Lake Constance. The summit of the Schneiderkopf at 971 meters is a perfect spot for a break before the route descends again via forest and meadow paths with views of the Bregenzerwald and the Lake Constance-Vorarlberg region. The trail leads via Buggenegg to Alberschwende. Along the way, a detour to the “Farnacher Moos” nature reserve is recommended. This marshland is what remains of a once much larger marsh complex and is home to numerous rare animal and plant species. From Alberschwende, you can take a comfortable bus ride back to the starting point in Wolfurt.
