A scenic summit hike from the Sennigrat via the Kreuzjoch and Zamangspitze, offering sweeping panoramic views of the Montafon and a long descent to St. Gallenkirch.

This tour is all about the panoramic views: From the Kreuzjoch, and especially from the Zamangspitze, the view stretches across the Montafon to the Rätikon, the Silvretta, and the Verwall, and on clear days, far into Switzerland, Tyrol, and toward Germany. After the scenic high-altitude trail, the descent via the Zamangalpe and the Maisäße of Tanafreida offers a long, scenically varied path down to St. Gallenkirch.

With a little luck, you might spot marmots along the way. The alpine flora along the high-altitude trail is also worth a closer look.On this hike, binoculars are almost as essential in your backpack as a snack: on clear days, you can see far beyond the mountain ranges surrounding the Montafon from the summit.Places to stop for a bite: Kapellrestaurant, Wormser HütteNotable landmarks: Sennigrat, Wormser Hütte, Kreuzjoch, Zamangspitze, Zamangalpe, Maisäß Tanafreida, St. Gallenkirch
