Silvrettasee via the Summer Trail to the Wiesbadener Hut

An impressive loop hike from Silvretta-Bielerhöhe along the Sommerweg trail to the Wiesbadener Hütte, featuring glacial streams, alpine scenery, and sweeping views of Piz Buin.

From Silvretta-Bielerhöhe, you’ll first follow the left-hand lakeshore trail along Lake Silvretta until you reach the turnoff onto the Sommerweg, and then ascend toward the Wiesbadener Hütte. Even above the lake, the view opens up to Piz Buin—at 3,312 meters, the highest mountain in Vorarlberg—while the glacier-carved landscape accompanies you all the way to the hut. The return route leads through the Ochsental valley back down to Lake Silvretta and back to the Bielerhöhe.

As you reach the first hills above Lake Silvretta, take a moment to admire the view of Piz Buin and the surrounding glacier-covered landscape. It is precisely there that you can see how water, ice, and rock continue to shape this landscape to this day.The Wiesbadener Hut is the perfect spot for a longer break before you hike back through the Ochsental valley to the Bielerhöhe.
