On the way, you will visit three gourmet stops and be spoiled by the hosts with regional delicacies.
The Brand Culinary Trail is available from Wednesday through Sunday. The Brand section of the Brandnertal Culinary Trail begins at the Dorfbahn valley station in Brand. You can reach the starting point in an eco-friendly way by taking the L580 local bus to the “Brand, Dorfbahn” stop, or alternatively by car. Ample parking is available at the Dorfbahn station in Brand.
The first leg to the first culinary stop is very leisurely. You’ll glide comfortably up to the Burtschasattel on the Dorfbahn and Panoramabahn. Right at the Panoramabahn’s mountain station is the Frööd Restaurant—and thus the first culinary stop—offering a magnificent view of the Rätikon Mountains and the Schesaplana, the region’s highest peak.
After the first culinary highlight, the route continues toward Palüd. Along the way, you’ll enjoy fabulous views of the surrounding mountains and discover the secrets of alpine nature and its inhabitants along the Natursprünge Trail. At the Parpfienz Saddle, the trail branches left toward the Innere Parpfienzalpe. Please note: This section of the route is also a mountain bike trail. Please walk along the edge of the trail on this section and watch out for mountain bikers heading downhill. The farm road passes by the Innere Parpfienzalpe and from there leads up to the Niggenkopf. From here, the route follows an easy forest path toward Palüd. The second stop is either at the Palüdhütte or a little further on at the Alpengasthof Melkboden.
After stopping at the Palüdhütte or the Alpengasthof Melkboden, the hike now leads back down into the valley to the third refreshment stop. On foot, the route passes the Palüd-Maisäßen and heads downhill to Brand Innertal. Alternatively, this part of the final stage can also be covered using the Palüdbahn. From the Palüdbahn’s valley station, walk a short distance further into the valley. At the chapel, cross to the other side of the Alvierbach stream. From there, the trail leads out of the valley. At the Brügga district, cross the stream again, go over the bridge, and immediately turn right onto the footpath. Follow this path to the Alvierbad natural swimming lake; from there, it’s just a few meters to the Valavier Aktivresort. Alternatively, you can also return to the valley via the Palüdbahn. Please note: The Palüdbahn operates only Friday through Sunday.
