    This hike, away from heavily frequented paths, leads you to beautiful and well-preserved alpine meadows. In the district of Bitschweil, the inn of the same name invites you to stop for refreshments.

  • Directions

    From the hiking parking lot Latschau, the first part follows the well-signposted Aquaweg. At the Lederbach intake (shortly before the Gampadels power plant), the hiking trail leads right up towards Manuaf – Horamaisäß. After a short time, you reach the alpine meadow settlement Manuaf. It continues alternately through forest and clearings over a hilltop to Mansaura, where a very nice view down the valley towards Bludenz awaits you. Over a side trail, the hike leads to Bitschweil Lake, where the only refreshment option of the route is located. From there, follow the signpost back to Latschau.

    The regional buses run throughout the Montafon. The main lines operate every half hour from Schruns train station.

    Arrival by train to Montafon

    From Bludenz train station, the Montafon railway runs hourly (sometimes every half hour). There are also direct connections from Lindau (D) and from Bregenz.

    Approach:

    Drive on the A14 to the Bludenz/Montafon exit and continue on Montafonerstraße L188 to Tschagguns. Through Tschagguns you reach the higher located Latschau.
