A wonderful mountain running tour, which can be started at any point of this route. Highlight of the run is the section from Rüfikopf over to Wöstersattel. A dream for mountain runners.

The tour starts slowly and on evenly ascending trails in the direction of Zürs. From Zürs it then climbs steeply up to Lake Monzabon. Anyone who has the time should stay here for a while and absorb the mountain atmosphere with a few stretching exercises or some yoga. Especially the view over the lake to Albona stimulates the mind and relaxes the body after the strenuous ascent. If you want to spare your knees, you can also take the Rüfikopf cable car down to the valley, but then you will miss the most beautiful part of this run: the way from Rüfiopf via Ochsengümple to Wöstersattel is a dream come true… On a flowing trail below the mighty summit structure of the Wöster, the route is fast for about 2 kilometres. From the Wöstersattel you have a wonderful view over to Oberlech and the Zugertal. A steep path takes you back down into the valley.

Enjoy the moment of silence at Lake Monzabonsee and get some rest before moving on.

  • Directions

From Stubenbach we follow the Flühenweg above Lech in the direction of Omeshorn. We follow the signs in the direction of Zürs / Flexenpass. Over wonderful trails we go gently uphill to Zürs. Shortly before Zürs we turn left and follow the steep waterfall path to Monzabonalpe. The path is steep, but offers a magnificent view down to Zürs. From the Monzabonalpe, one can already see the Rüfikopf. About 10 minutes below the mountain railway, there is the Monzabon lake that invites to silence and relaxation. Then we turn right in the direction of Wöstersattel. A flowing trail leads over here. From the Wöstersattel a steep trail leads down again into the valley to Stubenbach.
