From your holiday accommodation to the slopes

What’s better than skiing? Skiing that starts from and ends at your doorstep of course! Skiers keen to set off from their accommodation and also return there have a range of "ski in - ski out" accommodations to choose from at Vorarlberg's ski regions. But where should you stay? Numerous accommodations in these special resorts are located directly on the slopes. Alternatively, it’s only a short walk to the closest cable cars and lifts or from the end of the ski run into the valley to the accommodation.

01 Oberlech - Lech Zürs & Stuben am Arlberg

Get out into the snow and hit the slopes! In Oberlech, the car-free district of Lech Zürs am Arlberg, all hotels are located directly along the slopes or just a few steps away. After hours of enjoyable skiing, you can glide down the piste directly in front of your accommodation or enjoy the view from one of the sun terraces. Those staying in Lech, Zug or Zürs usually have just a brief walk to the closest cable cars and lifts. In Stuben at the foot of the Arlberg mountains, accommodations are just a few minutes’ walk from the ski lifts.

02 Gargellen in Montafon

The village of Gargellen is situated at a snow-secure altitude of 1,400 metres and in a quiet side valley of Montafon. Skiers can access the Schafbergbahn cable car on skis from some accommodation providers, while others are just a few minutes’ walk away. Since the winter of 2020/21, the ski run into the valley now allows guests to ski down both sides of the village to their accommodation’s doorstep until well into spring.

03 Gaschurn in Montafon

The new, snow-covered ski run into the valley to Gaschurn in the Silvretta Montafon ski resort is a game changer: Since the winter of 2020/21, there are now a number of additional “ski in – ski out” accommodations in Gaschurn that can still be reached on skis even until late winter. These accommodations are located on the lower part of the valley run and near the Versettla cable car. Those staying on the other side of the village can reach the Versettla cable car with ease on foot.

04 Damüls-Mellau in the Bregenzerwald

Those who opt for the snow-secure village of Damüls at an altitude of around 1,400 metres can happily strap on their skis right outside the door or walk just a few minutes to the nearest cable car or lift. Numerous accommodations are located in such a way that guests can ski down until directly in front of the doorstep. In the town of Mellau, several accommodations are grouped around the valley station of the Mellaubahn cable car. Some are located directly on the ski run into the valley or very close to it.

05 Warth-Schröcken in the Bregenzerwald region

Thanks to its north-facing slopes, the high-altitude resorts of Warth and Schröcken are guaranteed to be snowy until well into spring. The choice of pistes here is extensive. By cable car, skiers can even commute to Lech Zürs am Arlberg and the extensive Arlberg ski area. If you stay in Warth-Dorf, near the Steffisalplift, the Jägeralpe-Express or the Saloberkopf cable cars, you only have to walk a few metres to the ski lift and you can (nearly) ski down to the hotel doorstep. In Schröcken, there are also some accommodations directly on the ski run into the valley. Secluded from the village and only accessible on foot or on skis, the Berghotel Körbersee is situated in the middle of the idyllic winter landscape.

06 Au-Schoppernau in Bregenzerwald

From Schoppernau, the Diedamskopf cable car transports skiers and sun-lovers to the slopes at 2,090 metres above sea level with fantastic views. There are several accommodations near the valley station of the cable car that are even accessible on skis (especially during high season in winter when there is a lot of snow). In spring, the sunnier slopes can be a bit rough. After all, the Diedamskopf ski resort relies exclusively on natural snow and refrains from using snowmaking equipment.

07 Kleinwalsertal

In Riezlern (Fellhorn/Kanzelwand ski resort), Hirschegg (Heuberg ski resort) and Mittelberg (Walmendingerhorn ski resort), some accommodations are located directly at the cable car valley station or along the ski run into the valley. Furthermore, there are several cable car valley stations or lifts in Kleinwalsertal, which provide access to the lifts of the larger ski resorts. Thees cable cars and lifts and their slopes are also very close to the accommodations.

08 Brandnertal

At the family-friendly Brandnertal ski resort, some accommodations are just a few minutes’ walk from the ski lifts, and some are even located directly on ski runs into the valley. For the Tschengla high plateau, the towns of Brand or Bürserberg are the starting points for skiing fun.
