Ice climbing in Montafon, Brandnertal and Klostertal

Ice climbing - A special highlight for extreme climbers!

  • Keen for a challenge that’s as tough as nails? Look no further than an adventure in Montafon! When winter weather conditions are at their best, local mountain guides will introduce interested participants to the fine art of ice climbing. The programme includes a theoretical introduction followed by practical experience. Technical equipment is provided.
  • On the north side of the Rätikon mountain, the Brandnertal valley is the one of western Austria’s best places for ice climbing. More than 30 ice and mixed routes, from easy to extremely difficult, are located in this compact area. Guided tours can be booked individually with several providers: www.alpin-live.at | www.free-motion.at | www.bergaktiv.info
  • With a climbing length of 700 metres, the Fallbach waterfall between Dalaas and Innerbraz in the Klostertal valley is the longest continuous ice route in Austria. The route should not be underestimated and participants should come equipped for a serious Alpine tour. Time period: January to mid-March
