Experience farms in Bregenzerwald up close and personal: special experiences for kids on the farm featuring a goat playhouse, cheese-making school and small-animal petting zone.
A few years ago, the Metzler family in Egg opened up the first public farm in Vorarlberg. In addition to housing a cheese-making school and a new building with a visitor gallery in which the Metzler family turns whey into cosmetics, guests can visit the cow playpen with spectator gallery. The small-animal petting zone is popular with the littlest guests and the broad range of farm products – from cream cheese to whey products – can be purchased at the farm shop.
Under the NATURHAUTNAH (NATURE UP CLOSE) umbrella, the Metzler family has created a centre for energy-efficient and sustainable farming where visitors can have up-close and hands-on experiences with all agriculture. The project has won several Austrian and international awards.
