    A lovely tour from Egg to Alberschwende and back again, along the old railway line of the former Bregenzerwaldbahn.

    On a rail trail along the former Bregenzerwaldbahn, the tour starts off gently from Egg as far as the Langenegg power station. There, the climb to Alberschwende starts and continues as far as Tannen. Take in the stunning views of the lower Bregenzerwald.

    Via Müselbach, cycle back down into the valley of the Bregenzerach, and back to Egg.

  • Directions

    In Egg (550 m), you join the old railway line of the former Bregenzerwaldbahn. It has been turned into a rail trail, and takes you through the wild, romantic valley of the Bregenzerach (Achtalweg). At the Langenegg power station (470 m), leave the river and cycle uphill to Alberschwende (722 m). At the Lanzen parcel of land, a path branches off which continues upwards to Vöglen (820 m) via Tannen. This is the highest point of the tour and then you cycle back downhill to the Bregenzerach via Müselbach. From there, you take the same route through the Achtal back to Egg.
