Lindauer Hütte - Gauertal - Latschau
You can reach Lindauer Hütte on foot from Latschau via the winter hiking trail in about 2.5 hours.
The Gauertal, with its impressive peaks of Sulzfluh, Drei Türme, and Drusenfluh, is one of the most beautiful valley ends in the Alps. In this natural jewel in the Rätikon mountain massif on the Swiss border, you get to know the maize fields and “Schraga fences” that are so important for the Montafon cultural landscape.
The natural sledding run from Lindauer Hütte through the Gauertal to Latschau is one of the longest sledding runs in Montafon. Plenty of fun sledding is definitely guaranteed. The approximately 6.5 km long hike with about 700 meters of elevation through the impressive winter landscape involves a slight continuous ascent.
Sleds can be rented at the hut. There are enough sleds available; no reservation is necessary.
There is a very delicious Kaiserschmarren at the hut. When ordering multiple portions, the Kaiserschmarren is served in a communal cast-iron pan! Montafoner Keesknöpfli (homemade) is available by advance order! Tel. 0043 664 50 33 456 - www.lindauerhuette.com

Directions
The ascent starts from the district of Latschau in Tschagguns (hiking parking lot near the fire station or Kraftwerk bus stop). First, the footpath leads through the village of Latschau, past the Hotel Montabella, where shortly after the signpost pointing towards Lindauer Hütte / Gauertal guides your way.
After a short, steeper climb, you reach the Rasafei bridge, where you can decide to ascend to Lindauer Hütte either to the left or right. The paths rejoin after about 2/3 of the entire route. On the left, you walk on the “sledding track” and on the right through the district of Gauen, past the Gauertalhaus (a place to stop for refreshments). Both are very beautiful winter hiking trails.
After about 2.5 hours, you reach the Lindauer Hütte at the foot of the Drei Türme. After a refreshment, the return route goes back to Latschau. Please observe the opening hours of Lindauer Hütte.
