From Lech via Oberlech up to Mohnensattel and Lake Butzensee. Continue along a picturesque high trail to the well-earned hut Göppinger.

From Lech or Oberlech the hiking trail leads to Kriegeralpe and then on to Mohnensattel. Here you can decide whether you want to master the summit of the Mohnenfluh or continue downhill to the cool Butzensee. After a short break at Butzensee you come to a turnoff where you can decide whether you want to hike to Schröcken or to hut Göppinger. To the hut Göppinger the stony and bumpy way leads further uphill up to the Butzensattel. The view is breathtaking! The rocky path continues, partly downhill. The left side of the path is sloping. After about two hours you reach the hut Göppinger. Here you can take a break or spend the night.

  • Directions

From Lech or Oberlech the hiking trail leads to Kriegeralpe and then on to Mohnensattel. Alternatively, you can take the Lech-Oberlech mountain railway to Oberlech and from there continue with the Petersboden chairlift. The advantage is that you save a lot of ascent way. The signposted hiking trail leads from the Petersbodenbahn past the Kriegeralpe and the Steinmänle. Continuing up the wide gravel road, you reach the Mohnensattel after about 30 minutes. You can decide whether you want to master the summit of the Mohnenfluh or continue downhill to the cool at Lake Butzensee. After a short break at the lake Butzensee there is a turnoff on the shore path where you can decide whether you want to continue to Schröcken or the hut Göppinger. To the hut Göppinger the stony and bumpy way leads further uphill up to the Butzensattel. The view is breathtaking! The rocky path continues, partly downhill. The left side of the path is sloping. After about one hour you reach the junction Braunarlspitze. This path leads steeply uphill to the right. But we continue and after about two hours we reach the hut Göppinger . Here you can take a break or spend the night.
