The loop begins at the church square in Schröcken. From there, follow the road downhill for about 500 meters until just before the Tannberg Bridge. Just before the bridge, a trail branches off to the left, leading through the forest down to the Bregenzerache. Once you reach the Bregenzerache, the route first follows a farm road and then a hiking trail straight ahead to the Landsteg. From the Landsteg, a farm road with a gradient of about 10% leads up to the Biberacher Hütte. After the hut, the route continues along the Nordalpenweg to the Schadonaalpe. From there, a hiking trail leads to the Liethi Hut. From here, a path crosses the mountain ridge, maintaining the same elevation for the most part.

Tip for summit enthusiasts: From this trail, you can turn left and head uphill to the summit of the Rothorn (an additional 330 meters of elevation gain). The ascent follows the same path that leads back to the main route.

This is followed by the ascent to the Fürggele ridge. On the opposite side, a hiking trail leads back down.

Another summit tip: If you’d like, you can climb to the summit of the Hochberg from the Fürggele (an additional 310 Höhenmeter). Here, too, the return trip follows the same trail back to the Fürggele.

From the Fürggele, the trail leads downhill to Alpe Felle. A farm road finally takes you back to Schröcken.

Tip: Follow the trail running signs with the orange dot.

  • Directions

The loop starts at the church square in Schröcken, from where it goes 500 meters along the road down to the Tannberg bridge. Before the bridge, a path on the left leads through the forest down to the Bregenzerache. Once there, continue along the goods road and later along the path straight ahead to Landsteg. From Landsteg, a goods road leads up to the Biberacher Hütte with a gradient of approx. 10%. Then past the hut, continue along the Nordalpenweg to the Schadonaalpe. A hiking trail leads past this to the Liethi hut, from where a path crosses the mountain ridge (maintain altitude!). Watch out for summit luck: from this path, you can take the summit of the Rothorn (additional 330 m ascent) to the top left – the same path also leads back to the route. Then head up to the ridge of the Fürggele and down again on the hiking trail opposite. Watch out for summit luck: from Fürggele, you can also take the summit of the Hochberg (an additional 310 m) – the same path then leads you back to Fürggele. From Fürggele, follow the hiking trail back down to Alpe Felle, from where a goods road leads back to Schröcken.
