Municipality of Schruns: village circular route

Directions

The village circular route starts at Kirchplatz in Schruns and leads between the municipal office and Hypobank to the Mittelschule Dorf. Between the sports fields and Mittelschule Dorf, a path leads up to a height. Then turn right onto the narrow path, which slopes steeply upwards. At the top, enjoy a great view over Schruns-Tschagguns. At the end of the path, turn right and walk a few metres downhill. At the next fork, turn left onto Hofweg. In the middle of the forest, a narrow path branches off to the right. Follow this to the next signpost, then turn right and the path leads back to the centre. When you reach the cemetery, turn left in front of the Löwen Hotel Montafon and shortly afterwards keep right. In front of the Hotel Zimba, the promenade path branches left; follow this to the next access road “Rainweg.” Here turn right, cross Wagenweg, and continue straight through the residential houses until you reach the Kulturbühne in Batloggstraße. Behind the Kulturbühne, cross the railway tracks and reach the playground at the Litz. Turning right along the Litzpromenade leads you back to the village centre.

The regional buses operate throughout the Montafon. The main lines run every half hour from Schruns train station.

Arriving by train to Montafon

From Bludenz station, the Montafonerbahn runs hourly (partly every half hour). There are also direct connections from Lindau (D) and Bregenz.

Approach:

Take the A14 to the Bludenz/Montafon exit and continue on Montafonerstraße L188 to Schruns.

Park:

Parking spaces are located in the centre of Schruns (paid).
