Factbox

  • This flat corridor, just in front of the village of Baad, used to be inhabited mainly in the summertime. About this place is the legend of the “night people” (= the friendly people minds) told, which was known in the valley for its exuberant dances and hearty music. Once on a holiday, when the homeowner hl. Mass visited, returned the funny little group in the estate here, took the most beautiful cow, slaughtered, fried and eaten them with cheerful song. Even the children in the house were offered the feast, but they should not lose a single bone. At the end of the festival each one was Bones carefully collected, but one could not find. As time was pressing, the night people “wound everything in the skin,” and the cow suddenly came back to life. “She just has to limp,” it said. And indeed, the cattle were back in the barn after the farmer’s return and were “usable as before”.
