Seehotel Am Kaiserstrand ****

The perfect symbiosis of tradition and modernity. This historically protected hotel boasts a gorgeous location on Lake Constance. 100 years ago, the building was constructed as a hotel but was later used as a military barracks. Today, employing discreet colours, high-quality materials and plenty of light, each room is an homage to the beauty of Lake Constance.

The bathing house on Lake Constance is a shining example of Vorarlberg timber architecture. The property is located just 42 m from the shoreline, which is accessible via wooden pier. While bollards and base plates are made of concrete, everything else is made of wood. The facade can be fully opened to reveal a sensational panoramic view and the swimming area and bistro are open during the day. In the evening, the platform can be used to stage events.

Awards

The building received the Vorarlberger Holzbaupreis in 2011 in the category commercial buildings.
