Exploring Nature Playfully
Who makes the weather? What does the den of a groundhog look from inside? And what exactly happens on an alpine farmstead? On the themed Naturspünge trail and the animal trail in Brandnertal, walkers with an interest in nature can explore the particular features of mountain life. Both trails are equipped with interactive sites.
In the Klostertal, the Sonnenkopf, an attraction for both families and adventure seekers, is home to Bear Land.
Here, young explorers can ride up the mountain on bear gondolas. Up at the top, there is a bear cave, water games, a bear playground, rafting on Bear Lake and a lot more.
NEW Wildlife Trail in the Brandnertal
Who knows how an ant colony is organised or what role amphibians play in the ecosystem of a pond? It is questions such as these that the new Wildlife Trail in the Brandnertal can provide the answers to. Running from Alpe Parpfienz to Palüd, the trail which takes about 1.5 hours to cover, aims at raising children’s awareness of local wildlife. Interactive stations along the way hold interesting and fun activities in store for natural scientists of any age – hiding out in a marmot’s burrow, becoming part of the bees’ company or learning more about how owls and birds of prey live in the wild. Start out from the mountain terminals of either Dorfbahn or Palüdbahn.
A museum where you are allowed – even supposed – to touch everything? At the interactive inatura nature show in Dornbirn, this is all possible. You can crawl into a fox den, get all touchy feely with fish, experiment in the Science Centre, and learn in a playful manner how the human body works.
