Cows and goats at a farm, meet rabbits and chicks during a hike. Deers, ibexes and marmots can be visited at a game park.
Along the themed Animal Trail in Brand you can pet sheep, goats and rabbits and have a look into the chicken coop and the insect hotel. En route, you will come across a playground and an observatory with binoculars.
Two game parks in Vorarlberg invite small and large guests to visit mufflons, deer, marmots, lynx, ibexes … A wide variety of animals can be seen in the Doppelmayr Privat-Zoo in Wolfurt.
They are open all year round during the day. Entry is free.
Cows, donkeys, stone sheep and goats live on the farm in Lech am Arlberg. Small and large visitors are welcome to visit the animals. Some of them may also be petted.
Some years ago the Metzler family in Egg opened Vorarlberg‘s first walk-in farm. Alongside the dairy-school and the new building cum visitors’ gallery in which the Metzler family processes whey into beauty products, holidaymakers can have a look at the impressive cattle pen and a goat house from the visitors’ gallery. The small pet cuddle area has a special draw for the little ones. The adjoining farm shop stocks a wide assortment of farm products, from cream cheese to whey products.
With this project which runs under the name of NATURHAUTNAH (nature close-up), the Metzler family has created a place of energy-efficient and sustainable farming, where visitors can learn about farming processes hands-on. The project has won several national and international awards.
