Vorarlberg lies in the very west of Austria, bordering Switzerland and Germany. Extending just 70 km from north to south, from Lake Constance to the Arlberg, it is pleasantly small in size.

Vorarlberg is within easy reach by road, rail or air. The nearest air hubs are the Lake Constance airport Friedrichshafen, and Zurich in Switzerland, from where buses run directly to the ski areas. Some of these ski areas such as the Arlberg or the Montafon are famed all over the world, others are well-kept secrets for insiders, ski freaks, families, or those who want to enjoy the winter off the slopes.

A Perfect Choice
Skiers from all over the world value Vorarlberg for two things: first for the awe-inspiring panorama of sheer endless mountain peaks. In fact, three fourths of Vorarlberg’s land surface are covered by mountains up to 3000 m high, yet not all of the peaks are accessible for skiing. The dedicated ski areas are fully in tune with nature and pleasing to the eye.
And second, visitors are greeted by a gracious and warm welcome, paired with quality and excellence on all counts. Convenience for skiers is paramount, all slopes and runs are perfectly groomed and some resorts have even equipped their state-of-the art ski lifts with heatable seats. Innovation is, after all, a hallmark of Vorarlberg.
