Vorarlberg - a piece of Austria between Lake Constance and the Arlberg

Vorarlberg is Austria’s westernmost state. With an area of 2,600 square kilometers it accounts for only as much as 3 % of Austria’s total land area. Extending 95 kilometers from North to South, Vorarlberg is, however, unparalleled in its diversity of European landscape forms. From the “mediterranean” shores of Lake Constance (400 m altitude) over softly rolling hills, visitors can reach glacier-topped peaks (3,000 m altitude) just within an hour’s drive.

In winter, Vorarlberg is the place to be for skiing: skiing in the world famous resorts on Arlberg and the Montafon or in one of the many smaller ski areas, cross-country skiing or hiking in a winter wonderland.
